Central Europe’s security

An interesting column as Europe is trundling down the prolonged obstacle course designed by Czech president Vaclav Klaus against the final ratification of the EU’s Lisbon Treaty.

The Lisbon treaty, in its essence, is designed to put more muscle behind European diplomacy. That is what Central Europe needs, not a misguided missile-defense plan, writes Bloomberg News columnist Celestine Bohlen (12 October 2009).

Any chance of Klaus listening to anyone but himself?
