European Council President: Irish support for Mary Robinson?

The name of Mary Robinson has struck a chord with proponents of EU founding values and gender equality, when discussing the future President of the European Council (if the Lisbon Treaty enters into force). Here are a few examples:

I think that the European leaders could do worse than to elect someone a growing number of Europeans would be proud of.

Perhaps even the Irish government could find the courage to endorse a world class ambassador for Ireland, rather than the failed European Tony Blair?
