If Britons do not support Tony Blair?

According to a fresh Angus Reid poll, 47 per cent of Britons moderately or strongly oppose Tony Blair as the first president of the European Council. Moderate or strong support comes from 32 per cent, while 20 per cent are unsure.

Why should the rest of the European Union be more Blairite than the British public?

Despite his long and distinguished career as Prime Minister of Britain, Blair is a failed European.

President Nicolas Sarkozy of France appears to have softened his support for Blair. In a long interview in Le Figaro, Sarkozy admits that there is opposition and he acknowledges that Britain being outside the eurozone is a problem.
